How do I book services?
To schedule an in-home lactation consult or other service, please contact Third Coast Lactation directly at [email protected] or (312) 380-9638 or via the Contact page. No registration is required for drop-in clinics.
Do you offer drop-in clinics?
While we have offered drop-in clinics in the past, there are currently none scheduled. Our past clinic location, Milk Supply, has closed. We are currently working to find another location. Thank you for your patience!
How does payment work?
For all self-pay clients (i.e., plan to pay for services themselves), payment is due at the time of service. For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, & QuickPay.
If you are booking a lactation care package, there is a refundable (up to the day of your first visit) $75 deposit due at the time of booking. The balance of the package fee is due at the time of first service.
If you have one of the following insurance plans - BCBS of IL PPO, Anthem BCBS, Cigna PPO, or United Healthcare PPO - please contact us to discuss how to have your visits covered by insurance.

Do you take insurance?

Other insurance plans are not accepted at this time, but a superbill will be provided after all consultations and may be requested for classes. A superbill is essentially a specialized receipt that includes medical billing codes and which can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement. If you are interested in seeing a lactation consultant who takes your insurance, it is recommended to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask for their list of in-network lactation consultants (IBCLCs). If they are unable to provide you with this, they should be able to explain the process by which you will be reimbursed for seeing a lactation consultant out-of-network. The National Women's Law Center has an excellent resource for obtaining your Affordable Care Act-mandated lactation coverage.
